Round Up

What a night! The Opening Reception for the inaugural SCA Open brought over 300 guests to Sausalito Center for the Arts—and the building was buzzing. Your art, your presence, and your energy transformed the space into something magical. The reviews have been glowing. Visitors are still talking about the diversity, excellence, and creative spirit of your work. You helped us showcase the incredible depth of talent in the Bay Area and mark a new era for the arts in Sausalito. As one of the first SCA Open artists, you are now part of the foundation of the SCA. This was a great success, and there will be many more programs to come—new exhibitions, performances, teaching opportunities, and community collaborations are already in the works. As one of the artists who helped launch this inaugural event, you are now part of our story—and our future.

The Rose
The Rose

The Rose symbolizes the surviving spirit of an ancient culture.
The Anasazi Pueblo Indians abandoned the Spruce Tree house at Mesa Verde in the late 1200s. Although the culture has dissipated from this spot, the spirit of the ancient ones can still be felt when visiting the area.
The rose flower is backlit, symbolizing the generation of new seeds from the life force permeating the site. A languid smoke arises from a long cold hearth, breathing life into the spirit vision of the ancient ones.
